Field work group 1

Group 1 was the first group to teach their lesson to the fifth graders. They started with their introduction and explained the Teacher vs. student game that they will use throughout all 3 lessons. I liked that the teachers told the students they want them to win the prize. They gave the students a note sheet to follow along. They started off by asking ”what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the start of our nation?” Then they moved on to the development. They started with the notes. They had a few checks for understandings throughout.  Thumbs up if you agree, thumbs down if you disagree. Hand on your head if you agree. It was obvious that the teachers knew the material well. They also had time to review sections throughout the lesson. They were going over vocab such as “anti-” and “amend.” They then transition to guided practice by going over classroom rules again.Then they started explaining the guided practice.
