Field work group 2
Group 2 began their unit plan with the direct instruction lesson.They started by introducing themselves. They used SWAG acronym for their classroom rules. They used 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 to get the students to quiet down. They used swag dollars, and that’s how the students earn their prize. They used a word art for their pre assessment.There wasn’t really clear direction as to how the students were taking notes.I liked that they highlighted their notes when the students needed to write it made it easier to see. They used “a quarter for your thoughts” to check for understanding. They used a quill to show when the students need to write notes.They brought up notes from the lesson throughout the whole lesson. They used a match for their check for understanding. They showed a video about the war of 1812. They had to match the terms and definitions with each other.They then had to separate and find each other. They were given worksheet with emoticons and they had to circle how they felt about the lesson. They used twitter to compose a tweet done by George Washington based on the lesson.They had to use 5 vocab words and write 5 sentences. They gave a new acronym for swag.They used a word art as a pre assessment.They did a little review session before introducing their problem. They used a voki to introduced a problem. The problem was that Lewis and Clark never went on their expedition, so the students have to find the information.They have to find the information, put it in their journals and then move to the next section. The students had to write their findings down in their journals. They have to transition from station to station in order to obtain the information. The students then presented their findings to the class. The students were given a stained piece of paper and asked to report back to Thomas Jefferson on what they found throughout their journey. Next lesson they taught was the cooperative lesson. They reintroduced facts about specific people throughout their lesson. They came up with groups prior to class time. Candidates for president. Students have to explain why their candidate should be president.The students worked in groups to help come up with their campaign slogan and had different jobs throughout the activity.The students then presented their campaign. The students were given evaluation sheets. Campaign speech where they write about their individual candidate.
